The EU-funded project "Support to Basic and Upper Secondary Education" (KosEd), in collaboration with the Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo, has officially launched the certification ceremonies for teachers who successfully completed the first phase of training for the review and improvement of school textbooks.
This initial phase of the training program focused on textbooks for Albanian language and mathematics.
The first ceremony was held in the Municipality of Gjilan, with additional certification ceremonies scheduled for the coming weeks in other municipalities. The entire process will conclude by October 25th.
KosEd extends its sincere gratitude to the Municipal Directorate of Education in Gjilan and the dedicated teachers for their active participation and commitment to enhancing educational resources.
Program Overview
The “Capacity Building of Teachers for the Review and Improvement of School Textbooks” program, approved by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI), has successfully trained approximately 140 educators across seven municipalities.
Program Modules Include:
Review and Improvement of School Textbooks: Principles and Methodology (6 hours)
Criteria and Descriptors for Textbook Review (20 hours)
Textbook Analysis and Data Reporting (22 hours)
In total, the program comprises 48 hours of rigorous training and practical activities, culminating in teacher certification.
This program is made possible through the collaborative efforts of MASHTI, Municipal Education Directorates (DKA), EU-KosEd, and the Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo, reflecting a shared commitment to elevating the quality of education in Kosovo.
